Due to our clients’ requirements and timeframes, only candidates with eligibility to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading and analysing blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine materials, dimensions, and installation requirements.
- Choosing appropriate metal stock (e.g., stainless steel, galvanized iron, aluminium) and verifying sizes, gauges, and dimensions.
- Constructing ducting systems by welding, riveting, soldering, or brazing. Applying finishing touches like sanding, polishing, and cleaning.
- Installing and securing ductwork at various heights, including overhead installations. Applying insulation (lagging) and connecting to HVAC systems as required.
- Performing repairs on damaged components and specialising in areas such as on-site assembly, fabrication, or custom installations.
Requirements:
- A 3+ years of experience fabricating and installing duct and working with Sheetmetal
- Proven experience working on complex projects
- Strong knowledge of ducting principles including working with seismic brackets
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour
- A valid driver license and reliable transport
